the World.
More specifically, Saturday sessions are led by Alan Dunsmuir (see profile) and are attended by some of the UK 's TKD Champions and other elite Scottish fighters.
Both Tuesday and Saturday sessions are open to
anyone with basic technical skill and an interest in competing in
Olympic TKD.
Alan Dunsmuir (Profile) :-
Alan is the competition class coach and combines his coaching role with an active playing career. Alan is currently the Scottish National Team captain and competes at international events across Europe.
He has 15 years Taekwondo experience and has been competing at the highest level for most of that time.
He was crowned British Flyweight Champion in 2006 and has a large collection of international medals. He has always been on the fringes of the British Team and has spent time in training camps at the UK team's bases in Loughborough university and more recently in Manchester. Over the course of his international fighting career
Alan has fought in just about every major European competition bringing back a collection of medals.
Recently Alan won a bronze medal at the first British Open International, an event where he competed in the
semi final against British Olympian Michael Harvey. In addition to this Alan has won the Scottish Cup 8 times in
a row as well as a variety of other events across the UK.
Alan is a 3rd Dan black belt in Taekwondo and he now devotes his time purely to sport taekwondo and has done
so since joining central academy in 2003. His main goals for the future are to keep on competing as long as his
legs and body will allow his to do so. At only 28 he feels he has plenty of time left in the ring. His other goal however, is to develop potential talented athletes at the Central Academy to make them into the stars of the
future both at home and internationally .
