03/02/10 British Championships Success



The 2010 British Taekwondo Championships were held in Sportcity Manchester over the weekend 30th
and 31st January.  Central Taekwondo Academy had a team of 12 players competing.  The event was the
biggest British Championships held to date with over 500 competitors from 70 clubs around the UK. 
With Olympian Aaron Cook competing the BBC were there to cover the event.

Central had a very successful weekend and produced 4 British Champions, 2 Silver Medallists and one Bronze Medallist.  The new British Champions are Jordyn Smith, (Girls -23kg), Kristian Kinnon, (Cadets -49kg) Naomi Strathie, (Girls -33kg)and Christopher Sweeten, (Jun Male -55kg).

Lesley Jakubiak and Mitchell Spiers took Silver Medals and Niamh Scott took a bronze.
