31/03/10 Scottish National Team
Central Academy members Alan Dunsmuir, Chris Sweeten, Craig Eden and Ross Eden have been flying the flag for Central as members of the Scottish National Team competing recently in Sweden, Germany and Holland. Alan is assistant coach to the national team. Chris gained invaluable international experience competing in Germany and Holland.
Craig, who is now training at the national academy in Manchester, reached the quarter finals in Sweden only
losing out to Olympian Thomas Manse from Germany. He had another 3 games in Holland, this time losing to
some poor judging by 11 points to 10.
Ross continues to have the time of his life since moving up to the senior -74kg category. He achieved a fantastic silver medal after 5 matches at the Swedish Open, incredibly beating the
current world bronze medallist on the way to the final! He had another brilliant tournament in Holland, with 4 matches under his belt. He won his 3rd game by 14 points to nil!! It took no less than the Beijing Olympic Bronze Medallist to stop Ross in the quarter final.
There is so much potential amongst our international players. The way things are going we have a great chance
of having a Central player at the 2012 London Olympics.
Well done boys and keep up the good work.
